Material of the Month: Fascino Marble

Fascino Marble is one of those materials that immediately draws you in — soft and smoky veining, large scale movement, and a gentle mix of warm peachy terracottas and soft taupes. It’s far from boring and provides a smack of colour to make any space sing.

In our Barcelona kitchen project, Fascino takes centre stage across the benchtop and splashback, adding depth and natural variation.

Why we love it

Natural stone always brings a sense of luxury and permanence to a home — and Fascino is no exception. It’s a marble that feels both classic and contemporary, making it a versatile choice that works beautifully in modern family kitchens like this one, as well as more traditional interiors.

In our Barcelona project, we paired it with walnut cabinetry and warm neutrals to let the stone do the talking, while creating a deep, tonal palette.

What it works well with

  • Warm timber tones – think oak and walnut

  • Soft brushed metals – champagne, aged brass or brushed nickel

  • Neutral paints and finishes – especially warm whites or soft putty tones

  • Textural elements – handmade tiles and linen curtains to complement its organic nature

Don’t be afraid of marble

I know natural stone can feel intimidating, especially in high-use areas like the kitchen. With proper sealing and regular care, marble ages gracefully. Yes, it will patina over time, but that’s part of the appeal. If you’re someone who appreciates the beauty in natural variation and a surface that tells a story, marble is for you.

Care Tips:

  • Wipe spills promptly (especially acidic foods like lemon or tomato)

  • Use pH-neutral cleaners — no harsh chemicals or abrasives

  • Reseal once a year to protect against staining

  • Embrace a few imperfections — they’re part of the charm

Why it makes a great benchtop

Marble has a natural coolness to the touch, which makes it a dream for cooking and baking. It’s durable, easy to clean (when sealed), and its veining means it hides a bit of life between cleans. In the Barcelona kitchen, it brings a beautiful energy to the space — grounded, organic, and completely timeless.
